Marjani stepped out into the blaring sunlight, her dark-skinned hand raising to her eyebrows to shield her vision. "Hunh...sunny..."
Stepping forward, her scrubbed sneakers softly picking up the dust and dirt of the path to Lilac City, she surveyed her new training grounds. The dusty paved path wound through a lush area much like a river-valley - she swore she heard rushing water somewhere, though it could have been some sort of fake pond fountain for a laboratory habitat behind her. However, a lazy little stream appeared as she walked ahead, dripping carefully through the woods to her left.
Shielding her eyes again, she looked ahead of her. It was just about midday, and the sun was only going to get worse (curse the clear blue sky). In the distance, she could see a faint purple haze hanging around what looked to be a city skyline - it must have been the skyscrapers of the financial district in Lilac. Marjani couldn't tell if the purple was because of the official paint color of the buildings, or because of pollution generated from hyper-urbanization in private regions such as Aurora.
Stepping forward, she grasped the Pokeball from the lab. Her first Pokemon, the acceptable (but not all that great) poochyena, was inside. The teen supposed she could let him out, but really...did she need a relationship?
Deducing that she didn't, she continued her walk forward into the sunny glare, waiting to begin training her Pokemon. Basically, she needed him to be at level 10 to defeat Violet's weak avian team, with practice biting and dodging attacks from above and all sides.
Or so she assumed. Growing up away from any flying-type gyms seemed to give the fledgling trainer a disadvantage when it came to preparing for her first official gym battle.
((Blerg...icky postishness... Anyway, I see Marjani as the sort of uberly-highly-selective trainer...I have no clue what Pokemon she'd choose...picking the starter was hard enough. >_< Either that, or I see her catching a Pokemon...then ditching it if it doesn't prove to be good enough. XP ))
